Bentley Motors has announced the official name for its upcoming luxury model line, designating the vehicle as the Bentley Torcal. The luxury automotive brand based in England confirmed that the new product segment will function as the company’s fourth core model line, positioning it alongside its established Continental GT, Flying Spur, and Bentayga vehicle families.
Bentley says that the nomenclature continues a recent company convention of adopting nameplates derived from prominent geographical landmarks. For this model, the designation draws from El Torcal de Antequera, a complex limestone rock formation located in the Andalusia region of Spain. Corporate designers also noted that the term traces its etymological root back to the Latin word "torquere," which translates to twist and serves as the linguistic origin for the mechanical term torque.
Dr. Frank-Steffen Walliser, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Bentley Motors, stated that the upcoming vehicle is designed to carry forward the traditional performance and interior material craftsmanship standards that have anchored the brand since its establishment in 1919. The manufacturer plans to disclose further technical configurations and design parameters over the coming weeks, leading up to an official global vehicle unveiling scheduled to take place in London on September 23, 2026.
