Bentley Motors has confirmed that its Bentayga and Bentayga EWB internal combustion engine models are covered under the India-UK Free Trade Agreement (FTA), which provides for a phased reduction in import duties on eligible British-manufactured vehicles under defined quotas.
The agreement is expected to improve market access for eligible UK-built vehicles in India as tariffs decline progressively over the coming years. The extent of the benefit will depend on the applicable tariff provisions and quota conditions.
Bentley offers six models in India, including the Bentayga, Bentayga EWB, Continental GT, Continental GT Convertible, Flying Spur and Torcal. The company has identified the Bentayga and Bentayga EWB as the models currently covered by the FTA provisions.
Axel Dewitz, member of the board for finance and IT at Bentley Motors, said the agreement could improve the brand’s access to the Indian market, support its long-term growth plans and contribute to the development of the country’s luxury automotive sector.
Bentley said India remains an important market for the brand. Its operations in the country include locations in Mumbai, New Delhi and Bengaluru, offering its vehicle range, Mulliner personalisation services and aftersales support.
