Belding India Launches Hybrid Battery Storage System to Cut Diesel Dependency
Belding India today unveiled a Hybrid BESS designed to reduce diesel consumption, cut emissions and further strengthen power reliability across industrial and infrastructure sectors nationwide.
Belding India Limited announced the launch of its Hybrid Battery Energy Storage System (Hybrid BESS) at the India Energy Storage Week 2026 in Pune. The company said the system, developed indigenously, is aimed at improving power backup for diesel generator (DG)-based operations.
The product was formally unveiled by Union Minister of State for New and Renewable Energy Shripad Yesso Naik.
According to the company, the Hybrid BESS can reduce diesel consumption by 40–80%, depending on load profile, lowering fuel costs and operating expenses while cutting DG runtime. Belding India said this is expected to reduce maintenance requirements and extend generator lifespan. The system is also designed to provide instant backup power during DG startup and to manage sudden load spikes through peak load shaving, which the company said reduces the required DG capacity.
The company added that the system offers voltage and frequency regulation, supports integration with renewable sources such as solar power, and is intended to lower carbon dioxide emissions and noise levels. Belding India said these features are aimed at improving system reliability and reducing the total cost of ownership over the system's lifecycle.
The Hybrid BESS is intended for use across sectors including data centres, manufacturing facilities, hospitals, airports, telecom towers, mining operations, oil and gas sites, defence installations, remote industrial locations and construction projects, the company said.
Belding India Limited describes itself as an engineering and technology company operating in areas including battery energy storage systems, modular data centres, edge computing infrastructure, power electronics, advanced manufacturing and defence technologies.
