Balkrishna Industries Limited has announced the appointment of Saroj Kumar Khuntia as its new Chief Financial Officer and Key Managerial Personnel. The decision was finalized during a board of directors meeting on June 17, 2026, following formal recommendations from the company’s nomination and remuneration committee as well as the audit committee. Khuntia will officially assume his corporate responsibilities on June 18, 2026.

The management change follows the superannuation of the company's long-serving finance head, Madhusudan Bajaj, who stepped down from the executive post  on June 17, 2026, in compliance with corporate retirement policies. The Mumbai-headquartered tire manufacturer clarified in its regulatory filing that this is an ordinary case of superannuation rather than a resignation. Following his formal retirement, Bajaj will remain associated with the off-highway tire major, transitioning into a new role as Special Advisor to the Chairman and Managing Director.

Khuntia joins the senior leadership team of the multinational tire manufacturing company with over 24 years of operational experience in corporate finance, financial planning, and business strategy. A Fellow Chartered Accountant, his professional background spans capital markets, treasury operations, domestic taxation, corporate governance, and digital finance transformation. Prior to his appointment at Balkrishna Industries, Khuntia held senior financial and management roles at several high-profile industrial organizations, including CG Power, the Mahindra and Mahindra Group, IBM, and Hindustan Lever Limited.
