Bajaj Auto Ltd. announced today the relaunch of its Dominar 400 touring motorcycle with a revised 350cc engine, down from its previous displacement, resulting in a price reduction of nearly ₹37,000. The bike is now available at ₹2,03,214 (ex-showroom, Delhi).
The engine resizing allows the Dominar 400 to qualify for the 18% GST slab rather than the 28% applicable to motorcycles with engines above 350cc, a regulatory threshold that directly benefits the end consumer. Bajaj Auto states that the motorcycle retains the same performance characteristics, features, and long-distance touring capabilities as its predecessor.
Sarang Kanade, President of Bajaj Auto's Motorcycle Business Unit, described the move as consistent with the company's goal of making touring motorcycling more accessible in India, while maintaining the Dominar's core identity.
The Dominar 400 is positioned as an all-rounder capable of handling both daily commutes and extended highway rides. Bajaj Auto, which sold over 4.6 million units globally in FY 2024–25, markets the model as central to its touring motorcycle lineup in the Indian market.
