Bajaj Auto, TVS Motor report 20% YoY growth in total September wholesales
Bajaj Auto dispatched a total of 469,531 vehicles, including two-wheeler and commercial vehicles, while TVS Motor dispatched 482,495 vehicles.
Both Bajaj Auto Ltd and TVS Motor Company today reported a 20% growth on a year-on-year basis in their total sales, including two-wheelers and commercial vehicles during September. The sales growth was primarily driven by strong growth in two-wheeler dispatches.
Bajaj Auto dispatched a total of 469,531 vehicles during September, compared with 392,558 vehicles in the comparable period last year. Domestic sales grew 23% to 311,887 units, while exports increased 13% to 157,644 units.
The automaker’s total two-wheeler dispatches during the month rose 22% on year to 400,489 units with strong growth in domestic sales, which jumped 28% to 259,333 units. Exports rose 13% to 141,156 units.
The two-wheeler market is witnessing robust demand, in both urban and rural areas and automakers ramping up the dispatches to dealerships, expecting further growth in sales during the festival season.
Bajaj Auto’s total commercial vehicle sales recorded a growth of 6% on year to 69,042 units. Domestic sales improved by 4% to 52,554 units, while exports rose 16% to 16,488 units.
Meanwhile, TVS Motor’s total dispatches, including two three-wheelers, came in at 482,495 units, against 402,553 units. Its total two-wheeler sales increased 22% to 471,792 units, while three-wheeler sales fell to 10,703 units from 15,598 units in the comparable period.
The automaker’s two-wheeler dispatches in the domestic market registered growth of 23% at 300,493 units, its exports increased by 19% to 102,654 units. The company also registered a 42% growth in electric vehicle sales to 28,901 units.
