Bajaj Auto September Sales Rise 5%, Domestic Volumes Down Sharply

H1 FY27 volume reaches 29.87 lakh units, up 24% year on year; exports form 45.3% of dispatches for the month.

Bajaj Auto September Sales Rise 5%, Domestic Volumes Down Sharply

Bajaj Auto Limited reported total sales of 5.38 lakh units (two‑wheelers plus commercial vehicles) for September 2026. This was a 5% increase year on year from 5.10 lakh units in September 2025. Compared with August 2026’s 5.36 lakh units, sales rose 0.5% sequentially.

Exports drove the gain. Export volume was 2.44 lakh units, up 32% year on year from 1.85 lakh units. Domestic sales were 2.94 lakh units, down 9% year on year from 3.25 lakh units. Exports accounted for 45.3% of September dispatches.

Sequentially, domestic sales rose 15.2% compared with 2.56 lakh units in August, while exports fell 12.9% compared with 2.80 lakh units. August total sales rose 28% year on year, with exports up 51% and domestic sales up 10%. September’s year‑on‑year growth was therefore lower on both lines than August’s, with domestic sales moving from growth to contraction.

Bajaj Auto Two-Wheeler Sales in September 2026

Two‑wheeler sales were 4.51 lakh units, up 5% year on year from 4.31 lakh units and up 1.7% sequentially from 4.44 lakh units in August. Domestic two‑wheeler sales were 2.40 lakh units, down 12% year on year from 2.73 lakh units but up 18.8% sequentially from 2.02 lakh units. Two‑wheeler exports were 2.12 lakh units, up 34% year on year from 1.58 lakh units but down 12.5% sequentially from 2.42 lakh units.

Bajaj Auto Commercial Vehicle Sales Grow in Domestic and Export Markets

Commercial vehicle sales were 0.87 lakh units, up 9% year on year from 0.80 lakh units but down 5.5% sequentially from 0.92 lakh units. Domestic commercial vehicle sales were 0.55 lakh units, up 5% year on year from 0.52 lakh units and up 1.6% sequentially from 0.54 lakh units.

Commercial vehicle exports were 0.32 lakh units, up 17% year on year from 0.28 lakh units but down 15.6% sequentially from 0.38 lakh units. Commercial vehicles were the only segment with positive year‑on‑year growth in both domestic and export lines.

Bajaj Auto H1 FY27 Sales: April to September 2026

For April to September 2026, total sales were 29.87 lakh units, up 24% year on year from 24.05 lakh units in the same period of 2025. Cumulative exports were 15.11 lakh units, up 47% year on year from 10.30 lakh units. 

Cumulative domestic sales were 14.76 lakh units, up 7% year on year from 13.76 lakh units. Cumulative two‑wheeler sales were 25.07 lakh units, up 24% year on year from 20.18 lakh units, and cumulative commercial vehicle sales were 4.81 lakh units, up 24% year on year from 3.88 lakh units.

Cumulative domestic two‑wheeler sales were 11.94 lakh units, up 6% year on year, and cumulative two‑wheeler exports were 13.13 lakh units, up 47% year on year. Cumulative domestic commercial vehicle sales were 2.82 lakh units, up 13% year on year, and cumulative commercial vehicle exports were 1.98 lakh units, up 44% year on year.
