Bajaj Auto Reports 8% Growth in October Sales, Exports Drive Performance

Bajaj Auto Limited posted total sales of 5,18,170 units in October 2025, marking an 8 percent increase from 4,79,707 units in the same period last year. The performance builds on September's strong showing of 5,10,504 units, which had registered 9 percent growth year-on-year.

The Pune-based manufacturer's October results were driven primarily by robust export performance, which jumped 16 percent to 2,04,022 units from 1,75,876 units in October 2024. Domestic sales grew moderately at 3 percent, reaching 3,14,148 units compared to 3,03,831 units in the previous year.

Two-Wheeler Segment Shows Steady Growth

Two-wheeler sales, which constitute the bulk of Bajaj Auto's business, increased 7 percent year-on-year to 4,42,316 units in October. Domestic two-wheeler sales rose 4 percent to 2,66,470 units, while exports grew 11 percent to 1,75,846 units.

The growth comes amid favorable market conditions created by the implementation of GST 2.0 reforms in late September, which reduced prices across vehicle categories. The timing coincided with the festive season spanning Dussehra, Dhanteras, and Diwali, traditionally a strong sales period for the automotive industry.

Commercial Vehicle Exports Surge

The commercial vehicle segment posted particularly strong export numbers, with overseas shipments jumping 62 percent to 28,176 units from 17,413 units in October 2024. However, domestic commercial vehicle sales declined marginally by 1 percent to 47,678 units. Overall, the commercial vehicle segment grew 16 percent to 75,854 units.

This export surge in commercial vehicles mirrors the September trend, when Bajaj recorded a 67 percent increase in commercial vehicle exports year-on-year.

Year-to-Date Performance

For the April-October 2025 period, Bajaj Auto's cumulative sales reached 29,23,527 units, representing 4 percent growth over the same period in 2024. Exports continued to be the growth driver during this seven-month period, increasing 20 percent to 12,33,778 units, while domestic sales declined 5 percent to 16,89,749 units.

The year-to-date figures show two-wheeler sales at 24,60,094 units, up 3 percent, with exports growing 16 percent to 10,67,704 units despite a 6 percent decline in domestic sales. Commercial vehicles recorded stronger growth at 14 percent to 4,63,433 units, powered by a 53 percent surge in exports to 1,66,074 units.

Industry Context

The October performance reflects broader industry trends, with most automakers reporting strong sales during the festive period. The reduction in GST rates from September 22 provided additional momentum to the sector, with industry reports indicating doubled sales volumes between the GST implementation date and Diwali.

Bajaj Auto's focus on export markets has helped offset softer domestic demand, particularly in the two-wheeler segment where the company faces competition from electric vehicle manufacturers gaining market share. The company's strong position in markets across Africa, Latin America, and Southeast Asia continues to support its export growth trajectory.

The sustained export momentum and gradual recovery in domestic demand suggest the company is well-positioned for the remainder of the fiscal year, though domestic market challenges persist as reflected in the year-to-date numbers.
