Bajaj Auto Limited has released its sales figures for December 2025, showing a 14% year-on-year increase in total vehicle dispatches. The company sold 3,69,809 units in December 2025 compared to 3,23,125 units in the same month last year, according to data released by Executive Director Rakesh Sharma.
The December performance was characterized by robust export growth across both major segments. Export volumes reached 2,00,436 units, marking a 25% increase from 1,60,705 units in December 2024. Domestic sales showed modest growth at 1,69,373 units, up 4% from 1,62,420 units in the previous year.
Segment-Wise Performance
In the two-wheeler category, Bajaj Auto dispatched 3,10,353 units in December 2025, representing a 14% increase from 2,72,173 units in December 2024. Export sales in this segment demonstrated particularly strong momentum, growing 24% to reach 1,78,125 units compared to 1,43,838 units last year. Domestic two-wheeler sales registered a 3% increase, moving from 1,28,335 units to 1,32,228 units.
The commercial vehicles segment posted even stronger growth rates. Total commercial vehicle dispatches reached 59,456 units in December 2025, up 17% from 50,952 units in December 2024. Exports in this category surged 32% to 22,311 units from 16,867 units, while domestic sales grew 9% to 37,145 units from 34,085 units.
Year-to-Date Trends
The April-December 2025 period reveals a more nuanced picture of Bajaj Auto's performance. Total dispatches for the nine-month period stood at 37,46,609 units, reflecting a 6% increase from 35,48,032 units in the corresponding period of the previous fiscal year.
Domestic sales during April-December 2025 declined 3% to 21,06,638 units from 21,74,437 units in the same period last year. This decrease was primarily driven by the two-wheeler segment, where domestic volumes fell 4% from 18,07,153 units to 17,27,128 units. However, domestic commercial vehicle sales provided some offset with a 3% increase, reaching 3,79,510 units compared to 3,67,284 units.
Export performance remained the highlight of the year-to-date results. Overseas dispatches grew 19% to 16,39,971 units from 13,73,595 units. Two-wheeler exports increased 16% to 14,23,033 units from 12,31,593 units, while commercial vehicle exports demonstrated exceptional growth of 53%, climbing from 1,42,002 units to 2,16,938 units.
Market Dynamics
The contrasting performance between domestic and export markets suggests differing demand patterns across geographies. While the domestic two-wheeler market has shown weakness over the nine-month period, international markets have absorbed significantly higher volumes. The commercial vehicle segment has demonstrated resilience in both markets, though export growth has substantially outpaced domestic expansion.
The December figures indicate a potential improvement in domestic sentiment, with both segments showing positive month-on-month growth compared to the year-ago period. Whether this represents a sustained recovery or seasonal variation will become clearer in subsequent months.
Bajaj Auto's export-oriented strategy appears to be delivering results, with overseas markets now accounting for a larger proportion of total volumes compared to the previous year. The 53% surge in commercial vehicle exports over the nine-month period is particularly noteworthy and suggests successful market penetration or expanded distribution in international territories.
