Bajaj Auto Claims Top Position in India's Electric Commercial Vehicle Market
Company captures 36% market share with over 5,500 electric three-wheelers sold in April 2025.
Bajaj Auto Ltd has secured the number one position in India's electric commercial vehicle segment in April 2025, according to data from the Vahan portal. The world’s most valuable two-wheeler and three-wheeler manufacturer sold 5,506 units of electric three-wheelers, capturing a 36% market share in the L5 category.
This achievement comes less than two years after Bajaj Auto entered the electric three-wheeler segment, where several manufacturers were already established. The company attributes this rapid rise to the success of its recently launched Bajaj GoGo, E Auto, and E Cargo range of electric three-wheelers.
Bajaj Auto has historically dominated the internal combustion engine (ICE) three-wheeler category with a 74% market share in FY 2025. The company's reputation for product reliability, wide service network, and superior profitability for operators has now extended to its electric vehicle offerings.
The flagship Bajaj GoGo P7012, a purpose-built passenger electric three-wheeler, features a segment-leading range of 251 kilometers on a single charge. It comes equipped with a two-speed automated transmission, full-metal body, and enhanced passenger space. Safety features include Auto Hazard, Anti-Roll Detection, and Hill Hold Assist, designed to improve driver confidence and passenger comfort. The vehicle also offers a five-year battery warranty and an optional Premium TecPac that provides remote immobilization and reverse assist capabilities.
"Within two months of the launch, the Bajaj GoGo has helped us capture a significant 36% share of the EV commercial space and an industry-leading 39% in the passenger segment. This milestone is a testament to the Bajaj GoGo’s unmatchable features and reliability and trust Bajaj Auto has built over the years," said Samardeep Subandh, President – Intracity Business Unit, Bajaj Auto Ltd.
Bajaj Auto, which has sold over 2.1 crore motorcycles in more than 100 countries, is India's leading motorcycle exporter, with two out of three exported bikes carrying the Bajaj badge. The company is also the world's largest manufacturer of three-wheelers and the first two-wheeler and three-wheeler company to reach a market capitalization of ₹1 lakh crore.
