Autobest Emperio Doubles Pre-Owned Luxury EV Stock
Pre-owned luxury electric vehicles now make up 20–25% of Autobest Emperio's total sales, the Delhi-based dealership said, as buyers increasingly turn to the secondary market for high-end EVs at steep discounts to original purchase prices.
Autobest Emperio, a New Delhi-based premium automotive dealership, has doubled its pre-owned luxury EV inventory over the past year, citing rising consumer demand for premium electric vehicles at significantly lower ownership costs.
The company attributed the growth to buyers shifting toward the secondary market, where high-end electric vehicles typically depreciate by 40–50% within their first two years. That depreciation curve, it said, has made used flagship luxury EVs price-competitive with new entry-level luxury combustion vehicles.
Pre-owned luxury EV enquiries now account for nearly 15–20% of total luxury EV-related enquiries the company receives, according to Autobest Emperio. The segment currently contributes around 20–25% of the dealership's overall sales.
Avneet Singh Kohli, Founder of Autobest Emperio, said luxury EV buyers have become more value-conscious, with many willing to purchase a two-year-old premium EV to access flagship technology and performance at roughly half the original price — a shift he described as most pronounced in metro markets.
The company also pointed to improving charging infrastructure and reduced range anxiety in major cities as factors accelerating adoption among affluent buyers. To support buyer confidence, Autobest Emperio said it has expanded battery health certification and diagnostic checks for the vehicles it sells, as buyers increasingly seek assurance on battery condition and long-term reliability.
The company's planned expansion into Gurgaon is intended to strengthen its footprint in Delhi-NCR, which it identified as the largest market for luxury EV adoption due to charging infrastructure, concentration of corporate wealth, and EV penetration. Mumbai, Bengaluru, and Hyderabad were named as additional growth markets for pre-owned luxury EVs.
Autobest Emperio said it expects EVs to make up 50–60% of its total inventory within the next 12 to 18 months, citing growing consumer acceptance and a rising supply of premium EVs entering the secondary market.
Established in 2010 and headquartered in Delhi, Autobest Emperio is a premium automotive dealership specialising in pre-owned luxury vehicles. Founded by Sunny and Hunny, the company deals in high-end pre-owned cars from brands including Audi, BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Porsche, Range Rover, and Lamborghini.
