Aurionpro Transit is expanding its collaboration with Mastercard to support public transport agencies and government authorities across North America in upgrading transit payment systems and deploying contactless payment solutions.
The partnership will focus on simplifying the evaluation, procurement and implementation of contactless transit payments. The companies aim to develop repeatable deployment approaches that reduce implementation complexity while accommodating local operational and policy requirements.
The collaboration will combine Aurionpro's transit technology capabilities with Mastercard's payments expertise to help transport agencies modernise ticketing and payment infrastructure across multiple modes of public transportation.
Sanjay Bali, CEO of Aurionpro Transit, said the partnership would provide transport agencies with practical procurement and deployment options to support payment system upgrades and improve passenger experience.
Chapin Flynn, senior vice-president of Mastercard Urban Mobility, said the collaboration would also leverage Mastercard's Merchant Cloud gateway capabilities to help transport agencies modernise payments across different modes of transport.
