Audi launches S5 Sportback Platinum Edition at Rs 81.57 lakh

Platinum Edition costs Rs 5.83 lakh more than standard S5 Sportback.

In light of the upcoming festive season, Audi has launched the S5 Sportback Platinum Edition at Rs 81.57 lakh (ex-showroom, India). While it remains mechanically identical, this special edition model gets some additional features and is available in limited numbers.

Audi S5 Sportback Platinum Edition: what’s new?

The Audi S5 Sportback Platinum Edition costs Rs 5.83 lakh more than the standard S5 Sportback (Rs 75.74 lakh). For the additional cash, buyers now get Matrix LED headlights with laser light technology, a black styling package which brings black detailing on the front grille and windowline, red brake calipers with the ‘S’ lettering and LED sills with the ‘S’ logo projection on the ground. While on the matter of exterior changes, the S5 Sportback Platinum Edition will only be available in District Green and Mythos Black paint shades. On the inside, the S5 Sportback Platinum Edition gets Audi’s Sports Seats Plus with a massage function, Magma Red Nappa leather upholstery and carbon fibre trim pieces.

Other than these changes, the S5 Sportback remains unchanged. Features include a 10.1-inch touchscreen with Audi’s MMI infotainment system, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, 3-zone auto climate control, a panoramic sunroof, stainless steel pedals and an ‘S’ sports suspension with damper control.

Audi S5 Sportback Platinum Edition powertrain

The Platinum Edition remains mechanically identical to standard Audi S5 Sportback. This means it’s powered by a 3.0-litre V6 turbo-petrol engine that pushes out 354hp and 500Nm and it’s paired with an 8-speed torque converter automatic gearbox, which sends power to all four wheels via Audi’s Quattro all-wheel drive system. Audi claims a 0-100kph time of 4.8 seconds for the S5 Sportback.

Audi S5 Sportback Platinum Edition rivals

Currently, the Audi S5 Sportback has only one direct rival in India - the BMW M340i which is priced at Rs 71.50 lakh (ex-showroom, India).
