Audi, the German luxury car manufacturer, has inaugurated India’s first ultra-fast charging station in Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC), Mumbai. Developed in collaboration with Charge Zone, the 450kW ultra-fast charging 'e-tron hub' features a high-powered gun capable of delivering up to 360kW/500amps, ensuring efficient and high-performance charging.

Key features

  • 5 charging bays and an integrated lounge with 24x7 access.
  • Completely powered by green energy with solar roof panels for peripheral electrical requirements.
  • Location: MMRDA Parking, G Block, Next to The Capital, Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC), Mumbai 400051.

Audi e-tron owners can enjoy free charging at the 'e-tron hub' until March 2024, and the charging station is compatible and open for all electric vehicles. The charging station is designed for convenience, featuring premium coffee vouchers for e-tron owners and a comfortable lounge area for relaxation during charging.

The Audi Q8 55 e-tron, equipped with a 114 kWh battery, can charge from 20% to 80% in just 26 minutes. The 'e-tron hub' aims to alleviate concerns about range limitations, providing a seamless experience with considerably less charging time, the company shared.

Commenting on the occasion, Alexander von Waldenburg-Dresel, Senior Director, Sales Region Overseas, Audi AG, said, “At Audi, we remain committed to expanding the charging network for electric vehicles and I am very happy that Audi in India has taken the lead on this subject. Setting up India’s fastest EV charger in Mumbai is a great feat and reflects the evolution of EVs in the country. This fast charger will ensure that customers in the city of Mumbai will benefit from convenient, on-the-go charging.”

Balbir Singh Dhillon, Head of Audi India said, “The inauguration of India's first, ultra-fast charging station by Audi India is a significant milestone in our ongoing efforts to develop a comprehensive electric vehicle ecosystem for our valued customers. The ultra-fast charging ‘e-tron hub’ is located in the heart of Mumbai – Bandra Kurla Complex; which is accessible to a large number of electric vehicle owners. The rapid charging infrastructure is pivotal in alleviating concerns about range limitations, ensuring a seamless experience and considerably less charging time. We are not only establishing new benchmarks within the industry but also reinforcing our dedication to the future of sustainable mobility.”

Kartikey Hariyani, Founder & CEO, Charge Zone added, "With an increased growth of electric cars in India, it is clearly evident that an integrated approach of technology, upstream renewable energy, suitable locations are a must for providing a seamless experience to the EV users and it is heartening to see that team Audi India is aligned with our strategic plan of design, engineering & execution."

Earlier this year, Audi India introduced 'Charge my Audi' on the myAudiConnect app, providing Audi e-tron customers access to multiple EV charging partners. The 'Charge my Audi' initiative, which includes five charging partners, offers complimentary charging across the network (except on Zeon charging) for Audi e-tron owners until March 2024. Audi India has installed over 140 chargers across 73 cities in India, including dealerships and strategic locations along highways.
