AU SFB’s Wheels Business Crosses ₹50,000 Crore AUM

AU Small Finance Bank’s Wheels business crossed ₹50,000 crore in assets under management (AUM) in August 2026, making it the bank’s largest lending business, the company said.

The Wheels portfolio stood at more than ₹50,000 crore, comprising ₹30,752 crore in new vehicle finance, ₹17,966 crore in pre-owned vehicle finance and ₹1,767 crore in two-wheeler finance. The business recorded a 3-year CAGR of 26% and a 5-year CAGR of 29%.

The vehicle-finance franchise serves more than 13.7 lakh customers across India and contributes nearly one-third of AU SFB’s overall loan portfolio. The business was started in 1996, initially focused on financing self-employed entrepreneurs and transport operators in Rajasthan.

AU SFB said its Wheels business has expanded into financing for transport operators, farmers, contractors, taxi owners, first-time buyers, small businesses and entrepreneurs. Pre-owned vehicle finance remains a significant part of the portfolio, with the bank offering financing across both new and used vehicles.

The business is supported by more than 3,000 service touchpoints and is operational across nearly 2,000 locations, according to the bank.

Sanjay Agarwal, founder, MD and CEO, AU Small Finance Bank, said the Wheels business would remain a key growth area as the bank works towards its transition to a Universal Bank.

AU SFB said it is also integrating analytics, automation and AI-led capabilities into its lending operations as part of its digital transformation.

As of June 30, 2026, AU SFB had a total loan portfolio of ₹1,44,250 crore and a deposit base of ₹1,57,727 crore. The bank received in-principle approval from the Reserve Bank of India to transition into a Universal Bank.
