Ather Energy has announced that its Rizta electric scooter has crossed the 2 lakh sales mark, achieving the milestone just six months after reaching its first lakh units in May 2025. The family-oriented scooter now represents over 70% of the company's total sales volume.

Launched in April 2024, the Rizta has been instrumental in expanding Ather's presence beyond its traditional southern strongholds into Middle and North India. The company has seen particularly strong growth in states like Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh, where market share nearly doubled from 7% in Q1 FY26 to 14% in Q3 FY26. Punjab saw similar growth from 8% to 15%, while Uttar Pradesh increased from 4% to 10% during the same period.

The scooter's success has been bolstered by new variants, including the Terracotta Red color option and the Rizta S model with a 3.7 kWh battery. Both the Rizta S and Rizta Z models offer IDC ranges of 123 km and 159 km respectively, along with 56 liters of storage space and features such as SkidControl and Fall Safe.

Since the Rizta's launch, Ather has expanded its retail network to 524 Experience Centres as of September 30, 2025. The company recently surpassed 5 lakh total electric scooter sales across India, according to Vahan and Telangana Vehicle Online Sales data.

Ravneet Singh Phokela, Chief Business Officer at Ather Energy, stated that the Rizta has expanded the company's addressable market and enabled aggressive distribution expansion, particularly in Middle and North India. The company plans to focus on strengthening product accessibility through deeper distribution networks.

Ather Energy, founded in 2013, manufactures electric two-wheelers and operates India's widest two-wheeler fast charging network with 4,322 chargers globally. The Rizta is also available in Ather's international markets of Nepal and Sri Lanka.
