Ather Energy Launches Rizta Electric Scooter in Sri Lanka

Ather Energy Limited has introduced its Rizta electric scooter in Sri Lanka, marking an expansion of the company's product offerings in its second international market. The launch took place at the Colombo Motor Show 2025, approximately one year after Ather initially entered the Sri Lankan market.

The Rizta launch comes through Ather's partnership with Evolution Auto Pvt. Ltd, the company's authorized distributor in Sri Lanka. Since entering the market in December 2024 with the Ather 450X model, the Indian manufacturer has established 40 experience centers across the country and installed Ather Grid fast chargers to support the growing electric vehicle infrastructure.

Ravneet Singh Phokela, Chief Business Officer at Ather Energy Limited, noted that Sri Lanka has become a growing market for the company. He indicated that the Rizta, which has been available in India for over a year and recently launched in Nepal, is designed to meet the needs of Sri Lankan riders with its emphasis on safety and connectivity features.

The Rizta is positioned as a family-oriented scooter, featuring a 34-liter under-seat storage capacity and spacious floorboard design. Safety features include SkidControl technology, while the higher-end Rizta Z variant offers a 7-inch TFT display with Google Maps navigation and music and call controls.

Ather's international expansion began in November 2023 with its entry into Nepal, where it currently operates 9 experience centers and 7 service centers. In India, the company maintains 524 experience centers and 3,643 fast-charging stations as of September 30, 2025.

Founded in 2013 by Tarun Mehta and Swapnil Jain, Ather Energy now offers nine variants across two product lines: the performance-focused Ather 450 series and the convenience-oriented Rizta family scooter line. The company has installed 4,322 fast chargers globally, including 4,282 in India and 40 across Nepal and Sri Lanka.
