Ather Energy has received regulatory approval for its wholly owned subsidiary, Ather Insurance Limited, to operate as a composite corporate agent for the distribution and servicing of life, general and health insurance products.

The Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI) granted the Certificate of Registration on October 15, 2026, under the IRDAI (Registration of Corporate Agents) Regulations, 2015, as amended, according to a stock exchange filing by Ather Energy.

Why Ather Energy is entering insurance distribution

The approval will allow Ather Energy to use its existing customer base to develop recurring revenue opportunities through its subsidiary, diversifying its revenue streams beyond its core electric two-wheeler business. The company also expects the insurance business to improve customer and retail partner experience.

Ather Insurance registration validity

The registration will remain valid from October 15, 2026, subject to payment of the annual fee, until it is suspended or cancelled by the IRDAI.
