Ashok Leyland's domestic YoY wholesales slide by 8% in August 2024

The M&HCV segment witnessed a14% drop  to 7790 units during August 2024, as against 9013 units in August 2023.

Chennai-based  Ashok Leyland reported that its  total domestic wholesales for its commercial vehicles in August  2024 stood at 13,347 units, an 8% drop in comparison to 14,545 units during the corresponding month of the previous year.

The M&HCV segment witnessed a14% drop  to 7790 units during August 2024, as against 9013 units in August 2023. Furthermore, within the M&HCV segment, trucks dropped  by 17% to 6385 units during August  2024, when compared against 7709 units recorded in August 2023. 

Likewise, in the buses segment, the jump seems massive, at 8% to 1405 units in August 2024, compared to the 1304 units in August  last year. Secondly, in the LCV category, the company witnessed  a flat growth  at  5557 units in August 2024 as against 5532  units during the comparable period.
