Ashok Leyland sees 9% YoY jump in domestic commercial vehicle wholesales, August 2023
The company witnessed moderate growth of 2% to 5,532 units in August 2023 in the LCV segment.
Manufacturer of commercial vehicles Ashok Leyland announced on Friday that total domestic wholesales for its commercial vehicles in August 2023 stood at 14,545 units, an increase of 9% in comparison to 13,301 units during the corresponding month of the previous year.
The M&HCV segment grew by 17% to 9,013 units during August 2023, as against 7,671 units in August 2022. Furthermore, within the M&HCV segment, trucks grew by 9% to 7,709 units during August 2023 when compared against 7,051 units recorded in August 2022. Likewise, in the buses segment, the jump seems massive at 110% to 1,304 units in August 2023, compared to the low base of 620 units in August last year.
Secondly, in the LCV category, the company witnessed moderate growth of 2% to 5,532 units in August 2023 as against 5,630 units during the comparable period.
