Ashok Leyland recorded total sales of 15,484 units in May 2025, reflecting a 15% increase from April 2025’s 13,421 units. This rebound follows a month-on-month decline in April, with the Medium and Heavy Commercial Vehicle (M&HCV) segment driving the recovery.
The M&HCV category posted 10,282 sales in May, up 17% from 8,760 units in April. Truck sales led this growth, reaching 7,606 units, a 20% rise over April’s 6,354 units. Bus sales also improved, totaling 2,676 units, a 10% increase compared to 2,406 units in April.
Meanwhile, the Light Commercial Vehicle (LCV) segment saw a slight improvement from April’s low base. May LCV sales stood at 5,202 units, marking a 4% increase over 5,016 units in April.
Domestic sales accounted for 14,534 units, rising 14% month-on-month from 12,754 units in April. Export shipments contributed 950 units, showing a modest recovery from April’s 667 units.
Cumulatively, Ashok Leyland sold 28,905 units over April-May 2025, maintaining near-flat performance compared to 28,953 units during the same period in 2024. While overall growth remains steady, the improvement in May highlights recovery in core commercial vehicle segments after April’s downturn.
