Ashok Leyland bags Rs 298 crore order from Tamil Nadu STC for 320 diesel buses

The company plans to deliver the buses between June and August this year.

Ashok Leyland has bagged an order worth Rs 297.85 crore to supply 320 Diesel Fuel Type buses to the Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation. The Chennai-based commercial vehicle manufacturer and flagship of the Hinduja Group will deliver BS VI Diesel Fuel Type 12 Meter Ultra low entry rear engine fully built buses for city operations. 

The company plans to deliver the buses between June and August this year.These feature iGen 6 BS VI technology with an H-Series engine rated at 184 kW (246 hp) equipped with Front and Rear Air Suspension. In July last year, it bagged the single largest order of 2104 fully built buses from Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation.

Ashok Leyland is the only OEM in India to manufacture 12m ultra low floor diesel buses. The company has started deliveries to MTC, Tamil Nadu. Further, with the launch of Bada Dost i5, the company ventured into the 3.5-4T space, expanding the LCV product portfolio. In Q2FY25, Ashok Leyland bagged a large repeat order of 180 units of Boss 19T BEV and AVTR 55T TT BEV.
