Ascenso Tyres Commits $100 Million for Giant Radial Mining Tyres in India

Ascenso Tyres announced on Tuesday that it has committed an investment of $100 million to build domestic manufacturing capability for giant All Steel Radial Off The Road (ROTR) tyres at its Indian production facility.

The capital deployment covers specialised radial machinery, product engineering, testing infrastructure, and dedicated tooling for giant tyres, targeting operations across coal, iron ore, bauxite, and critical mineral extraction belts. The move marks an operational diversification for the brand, which has so far operated primarily in the agriculture, forestry, and construction (AFC) tyre segments.

The company's radial portfolio, which initially covered 25-inch rim diameters, has been scaled to include 49-inch giant tyres, with larger dimensions currently under development for open-pit mining and heavy earthmoving machinery.

To support the commercial rollout, Ascenso has deployed more than 15 field application engineers across mining regions in Odisha, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, and Rajasthan to monitor tread wear behaviour and local fleet operating conditions.

Commenting on the investment, Yogesh Mahansaria, Managing Director, Ascenso Tyres, said, "Our US$100 million investment is about building world class radial mining tyre engineering and manufacturing capability within the country, not simply adding capacity."

Dhaval Nanavati, Chief Executive Officer, Ascenso Tyres, said, "Reaching 49 inch giant mining tyres, engineered here in India, is a significant milestone, not just for Ascenso but for what Indian manufacturing is capable of in this space. We see this as the start of a long term commitment to mining customers in India and around the world."
