Apollo Tyres unveils radial tyres for defence at Bauma Conexpo 2024
The new range includes India’s first steel-belted radial tyre for backhoe loaders and durable all-steel radials for defence and multipurpose vehicles.
Tyres Ltd introduced its latest radial tyre offerings at the BAUMA ConExpo India 2024, an international trade fair focusing on construction machinery, building materials, mining equipment, and construction vehicles. The company unveiled the Apollo Terra Pro 1045, a steel-belted radial tyre designed for backhoe loaders, and the Apollo Terra MPT 1, an all-steel radial tyre developed for defence applications and multipurpose trucks.
The Apollo Terra Pro 1045 is India’s first steel-belted radial tyre tailored for backhoe loaders, designed to perform under tough conditions. Developed in response to customer feedback, the tyre addresses the need for puncture resistance and reliable traction across varying terrains.
Its tread pattern incorporates multiple biting edges and self-cleaning capabilities, ensuring reduced slippage in both wet and dry conditions. The radial construction, combined with a stable hexagonal block design, contributes to lower rolling resistance, resulting in improved fuel efficiency.
Additionally, the tyre’s specialised compound offers high wear and cut resistance, enhancing durability. Flexible sidewalls enable better absorption of road shocks and vibrations, providing a smoother ride, while the steel belt under the tread increases resistance to sharp object penetration.
The Apollo Terra MPT 1, an all-steel radial tyre, is designed for defence vehicles and multipurpose trucks, offering durability and reliability in challenging environments. Its self-cleaning tread pattern provides strong off-road performance while maintaining comfort and quiet operation on highways.
The tyre features a durable compound that enhances wear resistance and ensures traction on varied surfaces, including stones, soil, and sand. Its all-steel radial carcass construction improves stability and durability, making it suitable for high-stress applications.
In addition to these innovations, Apollo Tyres also showcased other products at the event. The Apollo Terra, engineered for self-loading machines, mobile concrete mixers, and compact wheel loaders, features an S-shaped tread pattern and open shoulder grooves, delivering enhanced traction and self-cleaning in both forward and reverse directions.
The Apollo Terra SS-5, designed for heavy-duty applications in skid steer machines, features a flatter tread profile for optimal load distribution. Interlocking tie bars and a higher net-to-gross tread depth enhance puncture protection and lifespan. Its heavy-duty construction and customised compound provide resistance to cuts and chips, making it ideal for demanding tasks like scrap handling.
The Apollo Terra MT, developed for 60 to 70-tonne dumper trucks, offers increased durability and superior performance. The tyre's durable carcass and cooler compound allow it to handle extreme loads, while its high air volume capacity supports greater weight. The additional rubber in the wearing zone improves mileage, ensuring reliable performance in heavy-duty applications.
