Apollo Tyres Receives Gold Rating from EcoVadis Sustainability Assessment

The Indian tire manufacturer joins the top 5% of companies globally with a 95th percentile performance score, up from 92nd percentile the previous year.

Apollo Tyres Receives Gold Rating from EcoVadis Sustainability Assessment

Apollo Tyres Ltd has received a Gold Rating from EcoVadis, placing the company among the top 5% of businesses worldwide across all industries in sustainability performance. The rating, announced on June 2, 2025, reflects the company's overall performance score reaching the 95th percentile in fiscal year 2025, an improvement from the 92nd percentile achieved the previous year.

EcoVadis, recognized as a leading provider of business sustainability ratings, evaluates companies across four key areas: environmental impact, labor practices, ethics, and sustainable procurement. Apollo Tyres achieved an overall score of 76 out of 100, representing a substantial increase from a score of 41 five years ago.

The company demonstrated particular strength in environmental performance, scoring 85 points in this category. Notable improvements were recorded in ethics, where the score increased from 50 to 63 points, and in labor and human rights, which rose from 70 to 80 points. The sustainable procurement category received a score of 71 points.

Sunam Sarkar, President and Chief Business Officer at Apollo Tyres, attributed the improvement to focused initiatives including enhanced environmental management practices, strengthened ethics and compliance programs, and the implementation of inclusive labor policies. He emphasized that the recognition reflects the dedication of teams who have worked to integrate sustainable practices throughout the company's operations.

The EcoVadis ranking system places companies in different tiers based on percentile performance. The top 1% of companies scoring in the 99th percentile or above receive platinum ranking, while the top 5% with 95th percentile performance or higher earn gold ranking. Silver ranking is awarded to the top 15% with 85th percentile performance, and bronze ranking goes to the top 35% with 65th percentile performance.

Apollo Tyres operates as an international tire manufacturer and holds the position of leading tire brand in India. The company maintains multiple manufacturing facilities in India, with additional units in the Netherlands and Hungary. Its products are distributed in over 100 countries through a network of branded, exclusive, and multi-product outlets under its global brands Apollo and Vredestein.
