Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham and Renault Nissan Tech collaborate for automotive research innovation

Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, ranked among India's top 10 universities, and Renault Nissan Technology & Business Centre India (Renault Nissan Tech) have entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to enhance collaboration in various domains, including placements, internships, elective courses, joint research projects, and the establishment of Centres of Excellence (CoEs) and labs.

The MoU signing event at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham's Coimbatore campus included chief guest Debashis Bimalprakash Neogi, Managing Director of Renault Nissan Tech, and Guest of Honour Hirotake Harada, Senior Vice President – Engineering at Renault Nissan Tech, among other dignitaries.

As part of this collaboration, Renault Nissan Tech donated a test car to support Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham's research initiatives in the automotive and related fields. Joint elective courses with in-depth studies will be introduced for automotive engineering students. The partnership also explores the possibility of launching customised work-integrated MTech programs for industry professionals in topics related to Automotive Engineering and Thermal and Fluids Engineering.

Debashis Neogi, Managing Director of Renault Nissan Tech, emphasised the significance of industry-academia collaboration in fostering talent, skills, and research in automotive technology and education.

Parameswaran, Principal Director, Corporate & Industry Relations, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, highlighted their commitment to providing students with a conducive environment for academic, professional, and personal development.

The collaboration aims to drive innovation and create value for the automotive and associated industries. Research initiatives will focus on emissions, exploring alternative fuels, and utilising advanced sensors for Road-Load Data (RLD) analysis. Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham will delve into the development of data-driven digital twins, enhancing simulation capabilities for specific performance metrics.

The partnership solidifies joint efforts in advancing automotive technologies, including research on eMobility, drive design, fuel cells, battery chemistry, and vehicle dynamics. The collaboration aligns with both institutions' commitment to shaping the future of the automotive industry through research, education, and innovation.
