Ampere has launched the Nexus EX+ electric scooter with a 5kW motor, IoT-enabled Intellipack, an IP65-rated charger and a starting price of Rs 1,29,999.
Ampere has launched the new Nexus EX+, an updated version of its electric scooter, with a 5kW motor, IoT-enabled Intellipack connectivity and an IP65-rated water-resistant charger. The Nexus EX+ is priced at Rs 1,29,999, while the version equipped with Intellipack is priced at Rs 1,35,999.
The new motor produces 202Nm of peak torque at the wheel and enables a claimed 0-40kph acceleration time of 4.5 seconds. Ampere says the motor is intended to improve pick-up and gradeability on steep climbs, flyovers and hilly terrain, as well as under load-bearing conditions.
The Nexus EX+ is available in two variants, with the higher-specification version adding Ampere's Intellipack connected technology. Both variants are offered in Carbon Knight and Steel Grey.
Ampere Nexus EX+ Gets 5kW Motor And IP65 Charger
The 5kW motor is the key mechanical update on the Nexus EX+. Along with the claimed 202Nm peak wheel torque, it allows the scooter to accelerate from 0-40kph in 4.5 seconds. The motor is also claimed to provide improved gradeability for steep climbs, flyovers and hilly roads.
The scooter also gets an IP65-rated water-resistant charger, which Ampere says is intended to add durability across varied weather conditions.
Ampere Nexus EX+ Intellipack Features
The Intellipack-equipped version uses Ampere's Connect App to provide more than 30 connected features. These include real-time charging status, live tracking, geo-fencing, Find My Scooter, turn-by-turn navigation and remote vehicle diagnostics.
The system also provides trip reports, ride statistics, charging history, energy insights, a battery health score and service booking. The two-variant strategy allows buyers to choose between the standard Nexus EX+ and the connected version with Intellipack.
Ampere Nexus EX+ Price And Battery Warranty
The Nexus EX+ is priced at Rs 1,29,999, while the Nexus EX+ with Intellipack costs Rs 1,35,999. Both versions are offered in Carbon Knight and Steel Grey.
The electric scooter uses LFP battery technology, with Ampere stating a designed battery life of 2,00,000km. The Nexus EX+ also gets a five-year/75,000km battery warranty.
Greaves Electric Mobility managing director Vikas Singh said the Nexus EX+ update combines the Intellipack connectivity system with the higher-output motor and IP65-rated charger. He said the motor is intended to improve performance in conditions including flyovers, hilly roads, pillion riding and load-bearing use, while the charger is designed to provide additional protection in varied weather.
The new Nexus EX+ will be available through Ampere dealerships across India.
