Ampere has begun a 15-day, approximately 4,000km endurance ride of the Magnus GMax electric scooter from Dong in Arunachal Pradesh to Guhar Moti in Gujarat. The east-to-west journey will cover eight states and is intended to test the scooter across varying terrain and weather conditions.

Ridden by Girish Seth of Weekend on Wheels, the ride will cover high-altitude mountain roads, highways, urban stretches and coastal terrain. The route will also expose the Magnus GMax to temperatures ranging from around 15°C in Dong to above 35°C in Gujarat, along with a descent of more than 1,200 metres from Dong to sea level.

The ride will cover five terrain types: rocky mountain passes, forested hill roads, national highways, dense urban stretches and the coastal/salt-flat terrain around Guhar Moti. Ampere said that the journey will involve recording each kilometre, charge and vehicle reading.

Ampere Magnus GMax Features Tested On Endurance Ride

According to Ampere, the Magnus GMax uses a next-generation LFP battery claimed to offer a 2,00,000km battery life, along with a dual-frame chassis and NxG.io smart technology. The company says it will evaluate these systems during an approximately 4,000km ride across eight states.

Ampere also positions the expedition as an application of its “Built for Bharat” approach, with the scooter tested across the differing road, terrain, and climatic conditions encountered on the route.

Ampere Magnus GMax Route And Key Stops

The ride will begin at Dong, described by Ampere as India’s easternmost sunrise point, and conclude at Guhar Moti, the westernmost sunset point in Gujarat. The route includes planned stops in Patna, Varanasi and Jaipur, where Ampere says it will engage with its dealer network, riders and local stakeholders.
