Ampere, the electric two-wheeler brand of Greaves Electric Mobility, has expanded its entry-level portfolio with the launch of the Reo VYB electric scooter at an introductory price of ₹69,499. The new model is aimed at first-time EV buyers and urban commuters, and will be available in four colour options — Warm White, Pastel Purple, Dark Grey and Aqua Metallic.

The Reo VYB is powered by a Lithium Ferro Phosphate (LFP) battery and offers a claimed range of up to 80 km on a single charge. Classified as a low-speed electric scooter, it has a top speed of 25 kmph and does not require a driving licence or vehicle registration under current regulations. The company claims the battery is designed for a lifespan of up to 1,00,000 km.

Speaking on the launch, Vikas Singh, Managing Director, Greaves Electric Mobility, said, “With India’s Tier II and III cities getting connected to the national EV grid and factors such as the lower upfront cost of low-speed scooters and increasing last-mile delivery, the adoption is expected to rise in the coming times. The Reo VYB aims to stand as a practical choice to address this need.”

The scooter comes equipped with a colour LCD instrument cluster, keyless start function via a premium key fob, front disc brake, LED headlamp and tail lamp, and 24 litres of under-seat storage. Suspension duties are handled by telescopic front forks and a rear damper setup, while propulsion comes from a hub-mounted electric motor.

Ampere said the Reo VYB will be supported through its network of over 400 service touchpoints across India. The scooter is offered with a warranty of three years or 30,000 km.
