Altigreen partners with Bolt.Earth to deploy 5,000 charging points
Altigreen will also engage in cross-promotional activities to educate electric three-wheeler users about Bolt.Earth’s app, which helps drivers locate nearby charging points with ease.
Altigreen has announced a partnership with Bolt.Earth, a provider of charging infrastructure to conquer range anxiety among users of electric three-wheelers by co-deploying 100 3.3 kW affordable charging points during the first month, and over 5,000 charging points during the next 3 years.
India has witnessed a recent rise in demand for electric three-wheelers in the last-mile delivery segment, especially in the L5N (goods) category, where electric 3-wheelers now command 21 percent penetration till date. Both Bolt.Earth and Altigreen recognise, however, that the country’s current charging infrastructure is too limited to fully support this electrification trend. In the absence of readily accessible charging points, range anxiety is deterring many fossil-fuel three-wheeler users from transitioning to electric vehicles. As a result, through timely deployment of charging solutions, this partnership will prove instrumental in removing the major obstacles to electric three-wheeler adoption, the companies stated.
Dr. Amitabh Saran, Founder and CEO, Altigreen says, “The partnership will increase EV confidence among Altigreen’s customers, dealers, and lease operators, through accessible and cost-effective charging. By joining forces, we are addressing the pressing issue of range anxiety that has hindered the widespread adoption of electric 3-wheelers. Through the deployment of accessible and affordable charging points, we aim to empower users and instill confidence in the potential of electric vehicles. This partnership is a stride towards a future where electric mobility is seamlessly integrated into our everyday lives”.
Raghav Bharadwaj, Head of Strategy and Thought Leadership at Bolt.Earth said “Our partnership with Altigreen is in perfect alignment with our mission to position India as a prominent hub for the electric three-wheeler market. This alliance will ensure that EV auto drivers across all regions have hassle-free access to our cutting-edge charging facilities”.
To spread awareness, Altigreen will engage in cross-promotional activities to educate electric three-wheeler users about Bolt.Earth’s app, which helps drivers locate nearby charging points with ease.
