AI and Data Science: JK Tyre's Strategy for Enhanced Operations 

Tyre major JK Tyre,which  recently set up its Digital & Analytics Centre of Excellence for achieving improved analytics, said it will leverage the higher level of analytics using artificial intelligence (AI), to enhance its operations across both customer engagement and manufacturing.

Anshuman Singhania, MD of the company, during a post-result conference call, said, "We are strengthening that [analytics] going forward. "And this centre will have the capability of a higher level of analytics, and in the future, AI modelling as well, which will help the overall business and the operation."

The top executive highlighted that the company has been taking many initiatives, including ramping up its channel and customer connectivity, and manufacturing, among others.  "We have been investing, you know, every year, in our digital initiatives, and we have been able to put a lot of resources," he added. The excellence centre boasts of around 70 engineers and data scientists.

JK Tyre on Tuesday announced the appointment of Dr. Arun Kumar Jaura as its Chief Technology Officer (CTO). The appointment is part of the company's strategy to strengthen its technology and R&D capabilities while implementing its succession plan.

Dr. Jaura brings over four decades of experience in India and global markets, with expertise in R&D, sustainability, automotive product development, and hybrid vehicle engineering. He holds a master's degree from IIT Madras and a PhD from Concordia University, Canada, complemented by executive education from Harvard Business School and the University of Michigan.

In addition to his corporate role, Dr. Jaura has been contributing to India's electric mobility sector as one of the founding members of the Government's National Mission of Electric Mobility since January 2013. He also holds leadership positions in the Indo-French Chamber of Commerce & Industry and serves on the European Advisory Committee for sustainable development.
