ACMA Appoints Steelbird Director Manav Kapur as Head of Aftermarket Pillar

Manav Kapur, Director of Steelbird International, has been appointed Chairman of the Aftermarket Pillar of the Automotive Component Manufacturers Association of India (ACMA) on September 16, 2025, to advance initiatives that strengthen competitiveness and enhance the global footprint of Indian auto component manufacturers.

Kapur's appointment comes after he completed his tenure as Chairman of ACMA's Young Business Leaders Forum (YBLF), where he led initiatives to strengthen industry engagement and build future leadership. He has handed over the YBLF leadership to Akhilesh Rai, Director of Suprajit Engineering.

"The Indian aftermarket is at an inflection point. With rising vehicle ownership, a growing focus on safety, and India's expanding role in global mobility value chains, there is a tremendous opportunity to transform this sector. Our priority will be to drive initiatives that not only make India self-reliant but also position our aftermarket industry as a trusted global partner," Kapur said.

The aftermarket sector supports mobility, generates employment, and ensures road safety as a critical part of India's automotive industry. Under Kapur's leadership, the Aftermarket Pillar will focus on promoting deeper localization and strengthening the competitiveness of Indian manufacturers.

The appointment coincides with other leadership changes at ACMA. Vikrampati Singhania, Managing Director of JK Fenner (India) Ltd., has been appointed as the new President of ACMA for 2025-26, while Sriram Viji, Managing Director of Brakes India Pvt. Ltd., will serve as President Designate.

The new leadership team will collaborate with Vinnie Mehta, Director General of ACMA, to guide the auto component industry through technological transformation, electrification, supply chain realignments, and global expansion.

ACMA represents India's auto component industry as the apex body, with over 950 members contributing more than 2.3% of India's GDP. The organization shapes policies, promotes innovation, and builds global partnerships while advancing India's vision of Make in India, localization, and sustainability.
