AbhiBus Introduces Filter to Help Travelers Book Newer Buses
The online bus ticketing platform allows users to identify buses less than one or two years old during booking process
AbhiBus, India's online bus ticketing platform, has launched a filter feature that enables travelers to identify and book newer buses. The "New Buses" filter categorizes vehicles as "Brand New" for buses less than one year old and "New" for buses less than two years old, with tags displayed on search results.
The feature addresses a common issue in India's bus travel sector, where passengers typically book tickets without information about the vehicle's age or condition. This lack of transparency has led to situations involving last-minute bus changes, mechanical problems, and substandard travel experiences.
Lenin Kodru, CEO of AbhiBus, said the filter provides travelers with greater control and transparency in their booking decisions. The company expects the feature to help passengers anticipate better maintenance standards, cleaner interiors, and more reliable onboard facilities.
AbhiBus operates as part of ixigo's transportation services and works with over 4,000 bus operators across India, including major State Road Transport Corporations. The platform covers more than 350,000 routes nationwide and serves as the official ticketing partner for several state transport corporations and IRCTC bus bookings.
The company has previously introduced customer-focused features such as Abhi Assured, which offers refunds of up to 150% for service issues. AbhiBus aggregates ticket inventory from operators while allowing users to compare fares, check schedules, track buses, and access cancellation protection options.
AbhiBus is owned by ixigo (Le Travenues Technology Limited), which reported over 540 million annual active users in fiscal year 2025. The parent company operates multiple travel booking platforms including ixigo, ConfirmTkt, and AbhiBus, offering train, flight, bus, and hotel reservations through AI-powered technology.
