Kawasaki has launched the 2027 Versys 650 in India at Rs 8.63 lakh (ex-showroom). The MY27 model carries over unchanged from the previous year in terms of its mechanical package, features and pricing, with the update limited to a new colour option.
The Versys 650 is available in a single Candy Lime Green colour for the 2027 model year. Deliveries are expected to have commenced, with Kawasaki previously confirming that they would begin by the end of August.
2027 Kawasaki Versys 650 Engine and Gearbox
Powering the Versys 650 is the familiar 649cc, liquid-cooled, parallel-twin engine, producing 67hp at 8,500rpm and 61Nm at 7,000rpm. The engine is paired with a 6-speed gearbox and an assist-and-slipper clutch.
There are no mechanical changes for the 2027 model year, with the motorcycle continuing to use the same engine and transmission combination as the MY26 model.

The Versys 650 continues with a tubular diamond frame, paired with a 41mm telescopic front fork offering 150mm of travel. At the rear, it gets a monoshock with remote preload adjustability and 145mm of travel.
Feature highlights include an adjustable windscreen, a 4.3-inch TFT instrument cluster with smartphone connectivity, traction control and full-LED lighting.
The adventure-tourer rides on a 21-litre fuel tank and has a kerb weight of 220kg. Its 845mm seat height is relatively tall, while the 170mm ground clearance should provide sufficient clearance for tackling uneven Indian roads.
2027 Kawasaki Versys 650 Price and Rivals
At Rs 8.63 lakh (ex-showroom), the MY27 Kawasaki Versys 650 remains priced identically to the outgoing model. It occupies a relatively niche position in the Indian middleweight adventure-touring segment.
Its closest rival is the Honda NX500, which is priced at Rs 7.44 lakh (ex-showroom). The Versys 650 offers a larger engine and higher power output, while the NX500 is lighter and more compact.
