India’s first JBM Electric Medical Mobile Unit (MMU) was unveiled today in New Delhi. Conceptualized, designed, and developed entirely in India, the MMU aligns with the PM Jan Aarogya Yojna (PM-JAY), the Prime Minister's health initiative focused on improving healthcare access in rural and semi-rural areas.
Mobile Medical Units, a part of the National Health Mission (NHM), aim to deliver healthcare services to underserved, rural, and vulnerable communities. These units function as “Hospitals on Wheels,” reaching people directly at their doorsteps.
JBM Electric Vehicles, a company specializing in e-mobility solutions, showcased the Medical Mobile Unit to key dignitaries, including Shri J.P. Nadda, Minister of Health & Family Welfare; Shri Manohar Lal, Minister of Housing and Urban Affairs; and Dr. S.K. Sarin, Director of the Institute of Liver & Biliary Sciences. Also present were Shri S.K. Arya, Chairman of JBM Group, and Shri Nishant Arya, Vice Chairman of JBM Group.
The MMU is a fully equipped mobile healthcare facility designed to deliver essential medical services, including primary care, diagnostics, and emergency assistance, to remote areas.
To ensure comprehensive healthcare delivery, the MMU includes staff, medicines, advanced medical equipment, teleconsultation capabilities, and necessary logistics. It is equipped with critical medical tools, including a defibrillator, fibroscan, bio-chemistry analyzer, centrifuge, blood transport box, and ECG machine.
