Skoda Auto Volkswagen India Recognised as Top Automobile Exporter by Mumbai Port Authority

Škoda Auto Volkswagen India Private Limited (SAVWIPL) has been recognised as the ‘Automobile: Top Exporter’ for FY2025-26 by the Mumbai Port Authority, following the export of more than 40,000 vehicles through Mumbai Port during the fiscal year. The recognition was presented at the Mumbai Port Authority’s Business Conclave with Partners.

According to the company, the award reflects its export operations from India and the role of Mumbai Port as a gateway for shipments to overseas markets. SAVWIPL said the port remains central to its export network, supporting vehicle dispatches to destinations across Asia, Africa, the Middle East and North America.

The latest recognition follows a similar award from the Mumbai Port Authority for FY2023-24. SAVWIPL stated that it has exported more than 725,000 vehicles from India to over 40 international markets as part of its broader export programme.

The award was received by Amit Madan, Vice President – Logistics Region India, on behalf of the company. It was presented by Dr M Angamuthu, Chairperson, Mumbai Port Authority, and Adesh Titarmare, Deputy Chairperson, Mumbai Port Authority.

Commenting on the development, Piyush Arora, Managing Director and CEO, Škoda Auto Volkswagen India, said, “Our manufacturing ecosystem in India has matured into a truly global export base for the Group, and we remain committed to further strengthening India’s role in our worldwide production and supply footprint.”

SAVWIPL currently exports the Volkswagen Taigun and Virtus, along with the Škoda Kushaq and Slavia. The company said it is also expanding exports of parts and components to support local assembly operations in selected international markets. It added that it continues to evaluate additional export opportunities, including in Sri Lanka, where the Group recently entered the market.
