Wabco India opens new plant at Lucknow.

Wabco Holdings Inc, a global supplier of technologies for the CV sector has inaugurated its fifth manufacturing facility at Lucknow.

Wabco Holdings Inc, a global supplier of technologies for the CV sector has inaugurated its fifth manufacturing facility at Lucknow. The new plant which expands the US company’s footprint in India that currently includes four plants - two in Chennai and one each in Jamshedpur and Pantnagar.

 The new plant is spread over 11 acres  (40,500 sq. meters) and will provide jobs to about 150 people. This number may increase to 300 once the factory reaches full production capacity by end of 2015.

“Our new factory in Lucknow enables WABCO to further strengthen its partnership with commercial vehicle manufacturers operating in India while further enhancing the leading market position of Wabco India,” said, Jacques Esculier, Wabco’s chairman and CEO. 

The new Lucknow unit will make anti-lock braking systems (ABS), actuators and a range of braking valves for multiple global commercial vehicle makers operating in India.

The new facility underlines Wabco’s ability to anticipate and align with the requirements of its customers in India through the supply of just-in-time, first-rate engineered, locally-adapted safety and efficiency technologies for trucks and buses built in India, the company said in a statement.
