VW sells 923,100 cars in Jan-Feb 2014 globally
Volkswagen Passenger Cars has delivered 923,100 (January-February 2013: 893.300; +3.3 percent) vehicles to customers in the first two months of this year.

In February, it sold 407,600 new cars (February 2013: 401,400; +1.5 percent). "Even though the situation in some markets was at times difficult, the Volkswagen Passenger Cars brand continued to develop well in the first two months of the year," said Christian Klingler, Board Member for Sales and Marketing for the Volkswagen Group and the Volkswagen Passenger Cars brand, said. "There was high demand in particular for the up!, Golf and Golf Estate as well as the Touran and Tiguan," he added.
In Europe, Volkswagen sold 245,200 (231,600; +5.9 percent) cars in the period to February. Deliveries in Western Europe (excluding Germany) rose 7.8 percent to 124,800 (115,700) units. In Germany, deliveries grew in the first two months to 80,600 (77,000; +4.6 percent) vehicles. In the Central and Eastern Europe region, 39,900 (38,800; +2.7 percent) customers took possession of a new Volkswagen. In Russia, deliveries fell to 20,000 (22,500; -11.0 percent) units as a result of the difficult market situation.
The brand recorded a 11.1 percent rise in deliveries in the Asia-Pacific region in January and February, handing over 472,700 (425,500) vehicles, of which 437,700 (392,300; +11.6 percent were delivered in China (incl. Hong Kong). Volkswagen handed over 6,500 (9,800; -33.9 percent) vehicles in India during the first two months.
Deliveries in North America were down 9.3 percent to 81,900 (90,300) units, of which 50,600 (60,500; -16.3 percent) were handed over in the United States. The company delivered 92,100 (112,400; -18.1 percent) vehicles in the South America region in the period to February, of which 70,500 (82,100; -14.2 percent) were handed over in Brazil.
