VW Group Sales India’s Thierry Lespiaucq to head VW France
Thierry Lespiaucq, managing director, Volkswagen Group Sales India, is to take over as chief of Volkswagen France.
Thierry Lespiaucq, managing director, Volkswagen Group Sales India, is headed overseas to take over as chief of Volkswagen France.
According to media reports, Lespiaucq will take charge from August 1 this year. "In his role as chairman of the Management Board, Thierry Lespiaucq will be responsible for the French subsidiary (750 employees) and the development of the five brands distributed in France," said the Volkswagen Group. The five brands are Volkswagen, Skoda, Audi, Seat and Volkswagen Utility Vehicles.
Lespiaucq’s India stint began on May 1, 2014 when he took over as managing director, Volkswagen Group Sales India, having come from Volkswagen de Mexico where he was Volkswagen brand director.
Lespiaucq has been in the automotive industry for 38 years. He joined the Volkswagen Group as director, Volkswagen Passenger Cars for Volkswagen Group France in May 2004. Before joining the Volkswagen Group, he was CEO of Renault-Nissan Suisse and Toyota France and spent 14 years at General Motors handling sales, aftersales and service.
