Premium carmaker Volvo Car India has confirmed bookings for the first 200 compact SUV XC40 R-Design within a fortnight of launch. Clearly, the introductory offer on the R-Design at Rs 39.90 lakh has clicked with buyers in India.

Two new variants of the ‘European Car of the Year’ have been opened for bookings with scheduled deliveries later this month – the XC40 D4 Momentum priced at Rs 39.9 lakh (ex-showroom) and XC40 D4 Inscription priced at Rs 43.9 lakh (ex-showroom). The XC40 R-Design is now available at Rs 42.9 lakh (ex-showroom). This completes the variant line-up of XC40 for this year.

Commenting on the demand for the XC40, Charles Frump, managing director, Volvo Car India, said: “We are absolutely delighted to have received such a positive response for the newly launched XC40. It’s a great beginning for us and we expect it to contribute considerably in achieving 10 percent segment share by 2020.”

Volvo Cars India recorded its best ever first half of a calendar year with 33 percent growth in volumes in January-June 2018. Of the 1,242 units sold, the XC60 contributed 25 percent.
