Volvo Cars India opens new dealership in Kolkata, to set up 6 more by December

Swedish luxury carmaker expands its India dealer network to 22, will set one new dealership each month till December.

Swedish luxury car maker Volvo Car India has opened a new dealership in Kolkata. The 3S facility with a showroom is located in Rajarhat and has a fully equipped workshop nearby. The Kolkata facility was inaugurated by Charles Frump, managing director, Volvo Car India. The carmaker plans to add a new showroom every month for the next six months  even as it targets doubling its segment share by 2020.

The showroom at SPL Volvo, Kolkata is spread across 8,100 square feet and has a dedicated service centre in a 20,000 square-foot plot. This fully operational state-of-the-art facility will cater to the increasing demand of the high-end luxury cars in West Bengal and nearby region.

Inaugurating the dealership in the city  Charles Frump said, “Kolkata is the gateway to the east and home to a lot of affluent families. It is a high-growth potential hub that caters not only to the metropolis, but also to nearby markets. Having strong partners is the right step in achieving our mid-term goal of doubling our segment share by 2020. I am confident that our partners SPL Volvo will help us in achieving our sales and service objectives in the market.”

Nikunj Sanwaria, dealer principal, SPL Volvo, said, “We are delighted to associate with Volvo Car India and have already generated a lot of interest in the market by getting good enquiries for Volvo cars. Customer service is the core differentiator for us and we will strive to provide unmatched service for our customers. The entire range of Volvo cars will be retailed and serviced from our new facility.”

Volvo Cars currently retails its products – the S60 and S90 sedans, V40 Cross Country, V90 Cross Country and S60 Cross Country, the XC60, XC90 and XC90 T8 Excellence SUVs, and V40 hatchback – through through its dealerships in Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Chandigarh, Chennai, Coimbatore, Delhi NCR – South Delhi, West Delhi and Gurgaon, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Kochi, Kozhikode, Lucknow, Ludhiana, Mumbai, Pune, Raipur, Surat, Vishakhapatnam and Vijayawada.
