TVS Motor’s Q4 profit rises 30% to Rs 118 crore

The company reported a revenue growth of 15% from Rs 2,443 crore in the fourth quarter of the financial year ended March 2015 to Rs 2,815 crore in the fourth quarter of the financial year ended March 2016.

Riding on the strong growth in sales and good market acceptance for its new products, TVS Motor Co reported a 30% growth in Q4 (January-March) net profit to Rs 118 crore from Rs 91 crore in the corresponding period last year.

The company reported a revenue growth of 15% from Rs 2,443 crore in the fourth quarter of the financial year ended March 2015 to Rs 2,815 crore in the fourth quarter of the financial year ended March 2016.

Motorcycles sales increased from 2.21 lakh units registered in the fourth quarter of 2014-15 to 2.47 lakh units in the fourth quarter of 2015-16. Scooter sales increased from 1.66 lakh units in the fourth quarter of 2014-15 to 1.98 lakh units registered in the fourth quarter of 2015-16. The company exported 0.83 lakh units of two wheelers in the quarter under review. Three wheelers registered sales of 21,445 units in the quarter under review as against 26,901 units in the fourth quarter of 2014-15.

FY2015-16 Performance

TVS Motor Co posted a 12% revenue growth during the financial year 2015-16 and its total sales stood at 27 lakh units. Total revenue grew from Rs 10,042 crore to Rs 11,244 crore and the net profit grew by 24% increasing from Rs 348 crore in the year ended March 2015 to Rs 432 crore in the year ended March 2016.

During the year, the overall two-wheeler sales including exports grew from 24.09 lakh units registered in the year 2014-15 to 25.68 lakh units in the year 2015-16. Motorcycle sales during the fiscal year increased from 9.51 lakh units in the year ended March 2015 to 10.17 lakh units in the year ended March 2016.

Scooter sales during the period under review increased from 7.0 lakh units to 8.13 lakh units. Meanwhile, three-wheeler sales of the company increased from 1.08 lakh units in the previous year to 1.11 lakh units in the year ended March 2016. Total exports of the company increased from 4.13 lakh units recorded in March 2015 to 4.54 lakh units in the year ended March 2016.
