MAN Trucks India, the fully owned subsidiary of the Germany-headquartered MAN Truck and Bus, is looking at enhancing its connect with the domestic market. It has announced that it will focus on customer-centric initiatives for enhancing customer connect and satisfaction, which will be rolled out in 2018.

Its initiatives will see enhanced focus on providing a comprehensive support to its truck and buses customers, and especially haulage vehicles. Under the Mobile24 initiative, the company says it will introduce 24x7 roadside assitance services across its product offerings (trucks, buses and haulage vehicles). This will also included in repair maintenance contracts (RMC) that can be customised to suit the specific customest requirements.

While under its MAN ProfilDrive programme, it will provide training to drivers to help them operate with better safety and also improve the fuel efficency of the vehicles. Along with the addition of new digital tools for customer connect, the company will offer solutions to its customer base using a digital platform that will help improve interaction with the company more value-driven and efficient.

These initiatives will be rolled out in a phased manner in 2018. The announcement was made at the company’s factory in Pithampur, where it marked the successful conclusion of The MAN Expedition.

The all-India drive comprised four tractors (CLA Evo 40.250, 49.250 and 49.300) and a 31.300 rigid truck which concluded with all the vehicles arriving at the factory. Under the activity, the vehicles carried rated payload for demonstrating its performance in true operating conditions. The three routes accounted for over 9,000km traversed by the vehicles that stopped at 29 dealer locations across India.

Joerg Mommertz, chairman and MD, MAN Trucks India, said, “We have always offered solutions that improve customer experience with the MAN brand. With Mobile24, customers get the assurance of MAN care at all times. The MAN ProfiDrive programme aims to help drivers deliver better fuel economy with their MAN machines. Awareness about safe driving practices is the other aspect that the programme will aim to create. Digitisation is increasingly becoming a tool of convenience for customers and we plan to offer solutions to make it easier for them to connect with us. I am confident that these initiatives will make the overall association of customers with MAN more value driven.”
