Triumph launches Speed Triple 1200 RS at Rs 16.95 lakh

Triumph launches Speed Triple 1200 RS at Rs 16.95 lakh

Triumph motorcycles launched its new Speed Triple 1200 RS in India, today. The premium bike is priced at Rs 16.95 lakh and is the latest addition to Triumph's Roadster line-up taking the Indian portfolio to three models – Street Triple RS, Street Triple R and the Speed Triple RS.

The redesigned engine has a higher capacity 1160cc triple engine developed with insight from its Moto2 race engine programme. It delivers 180PS peak power at 10,750 rpm and 125NM peak torque at 9,000 rpm. It is also 10kg lighter than the previous generation and, with an all-new chassis it brings better rider ergonomics and comfortable riding position.

Shoeb Farooq, Business Head, Triumph Motorcycles India said: “The urban roadster segment is one of the larger segments in the premium motorcycle industry in India and a growing one. With the launch of the new Speed Triple 1200 RS, we are extending our Roadster line-up in the liter class category; and with the upcoming Trident launch in the next couple of months, we will further strengthen and complete Triumph’s roadster lineup for India."

The new 1200 RS comes equipped with a step-change in Speed Triple technology, including all-new 5-inch TFT instruments, new Triumph Shift Assist up-and-down quickshifter, Optimised Cornering ABS, switchable Optimised Cornering Traction Control (with IMU), 5 riding modes – including Track mode, new distinctive full LED lighting, full keyless system and the My Triumph Connectivity System fitted as standard.

The Speed Triple 1200 RS will be available in limited units in India with the first batch consisting of only 30 motorcycles, which will be delivered via bookings on a first-come-first-served basis. Deliveries will begin by end-March. After the first batch the bookings will be serviced with a delivery timeline of July / Aug 2021.
