Toyota recalls 167 units of Prius

MUMBAI: As a part of the global recall of the hybrid-electric Prius announced by Toyota Motor Corporation, Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) has also announced a recall campaign in India.

MUMBAI: As a part of the global recall of the hybrid-electric Prius announced by Toyota Motor Corporation, Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) has also announced a recall campaign in India. The recall will cover a total of 167 units of the Prius.

The recall has been announced due to a software error in the hybrid system that makes the car unable to enter a fail-safe mode. TKM is conducting this recall as a part of the voluntary recall code. In an announcement on its website, the company said it has received no complaints in India so far. The campaign begins tomorrow and the repair will be carried out free of charge are expected to take one to one and a half hours.

In December 2011, the company had recalled 41,000 units of the Etios and Liva.
