Toyota hikes Fortuner prices by up to Rs 110,000, Crysta prices up as well

Rising input costs push Japanese carmaker to roll out third price hike in one year.

After the third price hike over the last one year, the Toyota Fortuner SUV has become pricier by up to Rs 110,000 ex-showroom, starting January 2022. Prices on the Innova Crysta MPV were also hiked effective this month.

While prices of the 4x2 variants in both petrol and diesel engine options have gone up by Rs 66,000, 4x4 trims including the more stylish Legender variants have seen a rise of Rs 110,000. The price “realignment is necessitated on the back of a sustained increase in input costs including cost of raw materials,” the company had mentioned in a statement issued in December last year.

Toyota Kirloskar Motor has also hiked prices on the Innova Crysta MPV by up to Rs 33,000 in January. The GX variants have become pricier by about Rs 12,000, while the higher VX and ZX trims have are now dearer by Rs 33,000 for both the petrol and diesel engine options. 

The made-to-order G and G+ diesel-only variants have also received a price hike of Rs 24,000 and Rs 12,000, respectively.

New entry-level Crysta introduced
The company has also widened the Innova Crysta range with the introduction of a new entry-level variants. The MPV in its petrol form is now available in a new manual-only GX(-) variant, priced at Rs 1,689,000 and Rs 1,694,000, ex-showroom, for the 7- and 8-seater trims, respectively. 

The Crysta is offered with a 2.7-litre petrol and 2.4-litre diesel engine choices, with both manual and automatic transmission options. The Fortuner, on the other hand, is powered by a 2.7-litre petrol and a 2.8-litre diesel engine, with choices of manual and automatic transmissions.
