Telangana awards electric bus contract to Olectra
The Olectra e-Bus has a range of 200 km on a single charge and has several features like electronically controlled air suspension for a comfortable ride, CCTV cameras, an emergency button, and USB sockets for each seat.
The Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRCT) has awarded a Rs 500 crore contract for electric buses under the FAME 2 scheme to MEIL Group’s Evey Trans (EVEY) by extending a letter of award (LoA) to supply 300 non-airconditioned electric buses based on a gross Cost Contract (GCC) model.
The 35-seater, low-floor, 12-meter long non-AC buses as per the GCC term sheet will be procured by EVEY from Olectra within 20 months and Evey would take responsibility for their maintenance for 12 years.

Acknowledging this order KV Pradeep, Chairman, and Managing Director, Olectra Greentech said, “Olectra is working with various State Transport Undertakings across Pune, Mumbai (BEST), Goa, Dehradun, Hyderabad, Surat, Ahmedabad, Silvassa and Nagpur and we are happy to now add Telangana too"
Pradeep said its electric buses have been making round trips from Hyderabad Airport for the last three years and the company will "stick to its schedule" to deliver it to TSRTC on time to improve the overall commuting experience.
