Tata Motors, which earlier this year, revealed an aggressive strategy aimed at turning around its passenger vehicle business and also re-energise its market-leader status in the commercial vehicle sector, is already seeing a smart uptick in its sales, both in the domestic market and globally.

November 20178 has been a good month for the automaker which has announced global sales of 112,473 units, a year-on-year growth of 22 percent over November 2016. Global wholesales of all Tata Motors’ commercial vehicles and the Tata Daewoo range in November 2017 were, at 40,845 units, higher by 51 percent over November 2016.

Tata Motors’ domestic market CV sales, at 35,307 units were a handsome YoY growth of 72 percent, the company riding on increased demand for vehicles across segments and the production ramp-up of its new range of BS IV vehicles. The company sold 12,851 M&HCVs, up 88 percent YoY, which is indicative of the market acceptance of its SCR technology. It also sold 3,984 I&LCV trucks (+76%). Its pickup sales grew by 53 percent at 4,685 units, the recently launched Xenon Yodha continuing to gain acceptance and volumes across markets. Meanwhile, SCV sales at 10,265 units rose 77 percent YoY on the back of strong response to the Ace Mega XL range. Bus sales too, at 3,520 units, were up 36.5 percent YoY.

Global wholesales of all passenger vehicles in November 2017 were at 71,628 units, higher by 10 percent compared to November 2016. Like its CVs, Tata’s passenger vehicle sales are also seeing robust growth in India – 17,157 units were sold in November 2017, a YoY growth of 35 percent led by strong demand for the company’s new-generation cars like the Tiago, Tigor, Hexa and the Nexon compact SUV.

Global wholesales for Jaguar Land Rover were 54,244 vehicles (including 8,179 units of Chery Jaguar Land Rover). Jaguar wholesales were 12,287 vehicles, while Land Rover accounted for 41,957 vehicles.
