In the recent past, he was instrumental in leading the OEM gaining a ‘better than expected’ market response for the Nexon EV, the OEM’s first EV positioned purely for personal use. He is remembered as a “humble and polite” colleague.
Dhar, holder of a mechanical engineering degree from BITS Pilani, started his career as a graduate engineer trainee at Bajaj Auto 21 years ago. He was also a member of the OEM’s 3-wheeler business, according to his profile on LinkedIn. After Bajaj Auto, he had stints in TVS Motor, Mahindra First Choice Wheels, before joining Tata Motors in August 2011 as the head of Tata Motors Assured, the vehicle exchange and pre-owned cars business of Tata Motors.
