Mumbai-headquartered auto major Tata Motors has partnered the Ministry of Ayurveda, Yoga & Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and Homoeopathy (AYUSH), to deploy Tigor electric vehicles in Delhi, as a part of its tender with the state-run Energy Efficiency Services (EESL).

As part of the understanding the first batch of Tigor EVs was handed over to P N Ranjit Kumar, joint secretary (Admin), Ministry of AYUSH by Raj Kumar Luthra, general manager, EESL.

Tata Motors has been looking to play a big role in the mass-market electric passenger vehicle segment in both fleet (Tigor EV with a range of 140km and 213km) and personal offering (Nexon EV, with a range of 312 km). In Q1 FY2021, the company claims to have a market share of 62 percent in the nascent electric passenger vehicle segment.

To drive and support the green vehicle adoption, Tata Motors is closely working with other Tata Group companies including Tata Power, Tata Chemicals, Tata Autocomp, Tata Motors Finance and Croma, to create an e-mobility ecosystem, ‘Tata uniEVerse’.
